Our fourth Wellbeing Hour show was aired on Monday 1 March at 9pm.
On the agenda this month:
– We followed up on our theme of supporting parents/carers in lockdown and asked YOUR specific questions to Kathryn Harriss, a BACP Accredited counsellor, who shared advice on supporting your children with their mental health whilst also looking after your own. Questions ranged from dealing with sensitive children, anxiety, home-schooling to self-harming and eating disorders to mark both Self Harm Awareness Day (1 March) and Eating Disorder Awareness Week (1-7 March).
– For World Book Day (4 March), members of our Book Club reviewed Anne of the Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery and explained why this particular book really helped them through the latest lockdown.
– To mark World Bipolar Day (30 March) and as part of our Men’s Wellbeing Matters campaign to encourage men to open up about mental health, we held a panel discussion with Laurence and Chris, two male clients of MFT who shared their experience of being bipolar and what has helped them to manage the condition. They also give their advice on why men should never delay opening up about their mental health.
– Finally, we’ll read your acrostic poems submitted by our listeners in response to Michele’s creative writing assignment in our February show!
We’d like to say a big THANK YOU to our listeners for submitting questions and feedback as well as wonderful poems! Your involvement means a lot to us!
