Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 With Us!

Every May, the Mental Health Foundation runs Mental Health Awareness Week to raise awareness of one aspect of mental wellbeing. This year’s theme is ‘movement: moving more for our mental health’, with the week running from 13 to 19 May 2024.

Join the Movement

We’re joining the movement (pun intended!) and offering lots of physical health activities to our clients this May to help you to explore what kind of movement works for you. Even if you think you are not “the sporty type”, we encourage you to try one (or more) of our classes just for fun and hopefully form a new healthy habit!

To attend any of our activities, you need to register as a client of MFT first by filling in our Online Registration Form. Open Afternoon – Brickfield Centre, Epsom

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, on Tuesday 14 May, we’re holding an Open Afternoon from 1.30pm-3pm in the garden of our Brickfield Centre, Portland Place, Epsom KT17 1DL to showcase all the free support we offer to local residents. There will also be tea, coffee and cake.

You’ll be able to meet the team, see the venue and find out about:

  • Community Connections, our wellbeing activities, courses and groups offered face-to-face and online to Surrey residents aged 16+ in Epsom, Banstead, Elmbridge and Mole Valley.
  • Safe Haven, our crisis support service delivered at the Brickfield Centre, open 365 days a year from 6pm-11pm
  • Financial & Wellbeing Support Service for people living and working in Epsom & Ewell in need of both financial advice and wellbeing support. This service is delivered in partnership with Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell.

Tips and Advice

We’ll also share on social media tips on how to add more movement to your day and a blog from our colleague Carlota on what happens in your brain when you exercise and which type of exercise has the most wellbeing benefits!
